Yup, must agree, this is an important point, especially for someone like me who is in the dunes almost every week. Some of the BFG guys, and now I'm taking MTs, have bead locks speciafically for this reason and can then easily go down to 0.7. The 'master' of the dunes, in my opinion, who drives a vehicle that leaks a lot of oil, drives at 0.4bar, with Coopers nogal. And then the more flexible the sidewall the better.deflate to 1,2 bar or less, there was a real chance that the bead would open up, allow sand in and viola, one or more flatties!

Re: Patrol 4.8 GL and TYRES
Hi Saltmann,
2nd Set of BF AT's fitted on my Troll. First set got 85 000 km, admittedly 70% tar. Second set now have 30 000 km and no problems. Only issue is when deflating, the walls don't flex as much as other tires so when driving soft conditions the Troll has to work a little harder.
Regards
Grant

Re: Patrol 4.8 GL and TYRES
Hi Grant
Glad to hear that they work well with the Patrol chassis, now anyone out there with experience of the extra horses from the 4.8 and BFG A/T's? Although I have not made up my mind yet, at this stage they are my no 1 choice. I am looking for counter arguments to convince otherwise!
Have a lekka weekend.
So please define "work" - in the 4.8 manual the word is not mentioned in the same sentence as the petrol engine ... he he he ...so when driving soft conditions the Troll has to work a little harder.

Re: Patrol 4.8 GL and TYRES
Saltman, I will be removing my ome suspension in the next week or so. Only reason, I'm fitting a 4 inch lift kit. The coils are 100% and shocks ok. I dont want anything for it, you just need to fetch it. My vehicle is a 2005 4.8 auto. Cheers

Jy was nie ver verkeerd nie - die griep en 'n sinus ontseking wat in my bors ingetrek het, het my "ge-disable" vir 'n goeie paar dae - amper weer mens!
