Hye david
I feel for you. I have 9, 7, 3 and 2. Trust me, DVD is at the top of my list, just after seatcovers. Wimpy milkshake don't work so well with leather seats. If you are going to stick witht he 17" rims i have a set of Mickey Thompson MTZ's 265/70/17's you can have. I want to change over to 16" rims and then go to a 285r slightly bigger.
Cheers
Pierre

Re: 08 4.8 GRX (275/65R17 to 285/70R17?)
Took the plunge about 2 weeks ago and bought 5x 285/70/17's BFG KM2's @ R2500/tyre (Thanks Tinus )
Best price I could get in the Cape was R3000!
Boy does these things grip - even on wet tar they really perform! Lowest point below the diff is now 245mm and from the ground to the rear fender exactly 1 meter.
Comment on noise - yes there are more noise but not necessary louder - rather a deeper tone. I only noticed it for 2 days - now I like it. My wife never commented on it so I accept she didn't even notice it
I had to space out the rear spare as it was touching the body but that was simple and cheap using 2x 20mm aluminium square tubing lengths and 4 new bolts 20mm longer.
On the 4.8 I have not yet noticed any difference in performance or fuel economy. (Actually got better economy on the first tank )
Will I do it again? - Yes

285/70/17 KM2
Here is a pick of me with the new 285/70/17's with Stefan in the background. This size tyre really suits the Patrol without being too big. They performed excellently in the various terrain we experienced.
We did the Honingklip 4x4 route this weekend and as usual the IFS guys struggled at stages having to do obstacles at speed to keep momentum while the Patrols just cruised through... 2006 Patrol 4.8 GRX Tiptronic Y61/GU(4)
