Mysterious thingy

Post by fralanti »

I had the windscreen on my Patrol replaced and somehow this connector/thingy on the photos below "appeared" or was removed by the fitment centre.

My question to the clever guys here: Is this something that was removed by the installer and he didn't know where to put it back or is it just something that ended up there perhaps when the audio system was replaced?

Is your car maybe chipped by SAC or other. I have the same looking thingy that SAC gave me when I chipped my BT50 apparently original. Said I must keep it if ever I want to take the chip out.

Yes, looks exactly like the bypass plug I got for my Dastek chip in the Hardbody. It lies loose in the armrest compartment in case I ever need it.

I bought the car from Noel (NMAD on the forum) and as I understood it is not chipped.

EDIT: Apparently the car was chipped before, but Noel had it removed completely by SAC. The "thingy" does however not look familiar to Noel. Perhaps something someone put on the dashboard and it slipped in between the windscreen and dashboard.
