24 Volt electrical short

Post by WP_Patrol »

I recently removed the radiator and replaced the waterpump, belts, hoses and fluids and removed the batteries. When Inwas done I replaced the batteries and all was fine. Then today I went to a wine farm, stopped the patrol and all was fine. When I wanted to leave later and turned the ignition there was only a click. I checked and found markings on the negative pole of the second battery that shows there was a short, tried to start it and there were sparks/flames coming of the pole. Disconnected everything, will get a car trailer tomorrow and gonget the patrol.

Any idea why this would all of a sudden happen? And does anyone know of a proper/excellent Auto electrician in Somerset West area?
