Setting Headlights

Post by iandvl »

Morning folkses.

Relatively recently, I get "brighted" a bit (not a heck of a lot, but a bit) from oncoming traffic when travelling at night. I'm not sure if my headlight alignment is a little out or something. Now the million dollar question: how does one align the lights ? Does anyone have a procedure for this, or know of a place that can do it ? The manual I have is the Nissan manual, which assumes one has all the expensive kit that the dealerships have...

Thanks a stack.

Easy to do, don't pay a dealer! There are two split adjusters that you tweak with a flat screwdriver. The diagram below may look complicated, but basically the beam should drop 6cm for each 5 m distance, and they should both be aimed straight ahead.

PS: If your car has a manual switch to compensate for load, set it to "0" before doing the above...

Christo,

Thanks a stack. Seems to be relatively simple. I'll try it over the weekend. :salute: :salute:
