Keys in ignition alarm
Morning all. A quick question:
Is the key in ignition alarm when door is open on a separate fuse that i can pull? It irritates the life out of me if as i leave my keys in the car with open door frequently.
Thanks

Re: Keys in ignition alarm
Yo Eddie - On my Opel Astra I was told it was a Computer programming that could turn it off -- Cost me R75 at the time and the dealer did something but it never sqweeked at me again.
Previous comments on this here on Patrol forum I recall that it was suggested to just find the buzzer and "knip sy draadjie"
Question: If you leave it on "ACC" does it still buzz?

I looked for a fuse but couldn't find any. Also thought of tracking ang cutting it.

Re: Keys in ignition alarm
OR you could just close the circuit in the door switch because that is where it gets it's signal from [the switch in the door frame that controls the roof light ?] coz it is only when you open the door that it activates -- Only bugg i see here is that the ALARM wil then also be disabled

Pity there is no "you left your lights on scream". I swear my dual battery system is just for that!!

Re: Keys in ignition alarm
To disable, take the shroud off the steering column and unplug the switch. its a small plug right next to the ignition switch. Did mine years ago... best mod ever!

Re: Keys in ignition alarm
My "left your lights on" alarm still works. The lights on alarm is handy. The ignition key alarm is, rather was, a pain!
