Powersocket not Working

Post by Wynvat »

My Patrol has a powersocket (next to the cigarette lighter) at the front and one in the load bay.

The one in the load bay has stopped working (the one at the front is still working).

There appears to be only one fuse for "powersocket", number 19. That fuse is still fine, and when I remove it, the front powersocket does not work. However, it appears not to affect the rear power socket.

The rear one just remains dead, and that one is dedicated to my mounted magcharger flits, so I need it.

Is there another fuse? Any ideas?

Wynvat, according to the manual the rear power socket has a separate fuse to the front (fuse number 46, 15A). The rear power socket is also switched on and off with the ignition switch via a relay, which has its own fuse (fuse number 9, 7.5A).

The manual shows that fuse number 19 is the front power socket fuse, buy the way. The wiring diagram shows that the only thing supplied via that fuse is the front power socket.

Loose wires are always a possibility, but the wiring to the rear socket is part of a thick loom that runs along the left of the car, so if something gets damaged there it is unlikely to be only one function that suffers. The loom is quite well protected as far as I know.

The rear power socket relay is located somewhere in the vicinity of the left hand rear wheel arch according to the manual, so one should hear it click in and out is in that vicinity as the ignition switch is turned on and off.

Thanks guys, I found the problem. It was that fuse #46, and it is in the engine compartment. The other fuses (9, 13 and 19) are in the main fuse box in the cabin. It's fixed now. Thanks again.
