If you decide to purchase an SUV or 4x4 with a raised center of gravity you need to accept that the risk of a potential rollover is increases.

In real (SA) live it might be even worse as we do not have smooth 30 meter wide tar strips which would even allows such (well executed) maneuvers.

Be mindful of this and drive with caution. :oldtimer:

Or we can start our own racing formula...... Patrols with minimum 50 mm lift, mud terrains, sway bars must be disconnected and roofracks with 2 x 120 l water containers on top..... 1 000's will pay to watch that.....
That is more of a driver skill than car ability.
On my bucket list is an advanced driver skills course and training for dirt roads specifically. Rally drivers are the real deal, more so than Formula 1 drivers in my view.
Cornering the car such that you go on two wheels and NOT flip over. That is what I would like to do : Getting to know you vehicle such that you know just how tight you can go without rolling. The driver of the Hilux in the clip is a good example. He knew exactly at what point to turn back again, not to mess up the car.
This is probably the best most constructive idea I have ever read on the forum and if it saves 1 life will be worth it. Mr Connan - Are you able to point us in the right direction on how to put something like this together? Gerotek with chief instructor Hannes Grobler?
Unfortunately i was only ever involved in track racing, never rallying or off-roading. The basics are the same, the only real difference in my mind is that rally drivers deal with more imponderables.

Skid-pan time is easy. Zwartkops have an open day once a month where, for a pretty nominal fee you can drive on the skidpan or track. It is a huge amount of fun.

Asfor special training, perhaps Glyn Demmer can arrange something?
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.
