Hey Roelf
sounds like your brakes might be bonding ....give graham a call he is in valhalla
is your car still under nissan grantee?
The pedal jumping under your foot is a problem might be abs not working properly? 15000 is about time for new pads . Mabe just check the disks on a skim machine before you change them?

15 000km on a set of pads should still have a lot of life left on them I think.

It must be something small that is making the nonsense. Possibly an air bubble? I would send it in to Nissan and let them bleed the brakes completely and check the ABS sensors.

Cedric, the petrol brake pads dont last as long as the diesels. I am on 30 000km's now. Stil a lot of meat left. Again another area where you safe by drive a koolstoof

Roelf,

Had the same problem only when going down mountain passes and applying slight braking. A shudder would develop as soon as the disks warmed up.
Solved it by fitting a new set of disks from Power Brake.

Apparently it can also be from deposits from your pads on the disks. Abuse them by going to 100km/h and braking hard down to 40km/h 5-6 times. This should make them hot enough to burn away any deposits :salute:

That is why we drive diesels, No need for brakes on down hills as we have the compression to assist. :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Ag jou g@t ook man! Ons moet briek anders gaan ons vlieg

Actually the braking with the tiptronic is quite good. I just pop it in manual and shift down and it will keep certain speeds depending in if it is in H or L but must agree it is still a bit fast in L first gear when off road
