Brake Master Cylinder

Hi all Patrol Gurus.

I joined a couple of weeks ago, after taking delivery of my first "new" Patrol. Patrol in question is a 2001 4.5 GRX model. In excellent condition, full service history and similar. Also, since I got it at a very good price, I've got the dosh to fix her up a bit.

I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership last week as I'm in Nairobi until early February, and wanted them to go through the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and pick up any potential issues. Well, they're impressed at the condition of a 14-year-old vehicle, but there have been one or two (small) issues which have all been sorted out. The big thing is, I need a new master cylinder (part number: 46010VS40B, so they say). The dealership can order the part, but lead-time for delivery is about 8 weeks... :(

I've given them the go ahead to order the part, but it is really going to suck not having the 'trol for another 6 weeks after I get back... So, in the meantime, does anybody know where I can track down a replacement ? Are there any (good) aftermarket parts or similar ?

I've noticed that the Patrol is a lot more popular here in Kenya (I've seen a whole bunch of them - more than I've ever seen in .za), so I'm going to see whether I can track down a part here and bring one back with me, but I am not overly hopeful.

Thanks a stack.

Ian

Tinus,

Thanks for the help. I've PM'ed Dawid. I'll hold thumbs that he has one that he is happy to part with. Ideally, I'd like to have my Patrol waiting for me when I get back from Nairobi next week Saturday...

Right everyone. Please disregard the post. I seem to have tracked down a new part in .ZA, and it will be delivered to the dealership today.

Thanks for the responses regardless.
