When I bought my Patrol the terrible condition of the rear brakes helped to get the price down, but it's a year and 8000km's later and I'm busy doing the front inner oil seal, so it is time to have a look at the brakes, which I've been putting off for way too long.
When I got the one rear disc off it turned out to be a really bad condition as you can see from the pic below.
So far I've only found Alfa aftermarket discs at R1500 each. In Aus I can buy cross drilled and slotted discs at R700, but shipping and duties make it even more expensive.
I've searched the forum, but couldn't find anything concrete and current, so has anyone recently found a cheaper or second hand alternative?

The front ones also don't look very good, but they're at least still skimmable. The rear ones are way beyond the limit and it looks like it was previously skimmed by an idiot with an angle grinder
Here's the reply I got from Powerbrake:

Unfortunately we do not manufacture rear discs and pads for the Patrol. As we concentrate on upgrades, we focus on the front brakes only as this is where up to 85% of your braking is done. For the rears, we recommend fitting the OE parts or equivalent aftermarket alternatives.

Re: GU 4.5 Rear Brake Discs
Zantus, three guys you can try:
Ross recently lost a rear axle and replaced it, I am not sure what happened to the old one?
Duckit bent both axles on one of his cars, I am also not sure what happened to the old stuff?
Jean Volschenk has quite a good supply of spares he may or may not be prepared to part with?
Good luck

Hi Guys,
I got a price from Nissan for the two front dics, R5000. Went to power brake and got discs and pads for half the price.

Re: GU 4.5 Rear Brake Discs
For front discs, there are more options....for rear so far it's the stealers, Alfa, and some or other Aussie slotted and cross drilled disc.
