4.8 coils in n GQ?

Post by Tinus lotz »

Has any body done this? I am sure that the GQ is about 700kg lighter than the 4.8 and this will make it work like a lift kit
if a Person puts bilstein or koni shocks in or even gabriels it might work ? What do you think?????

DANKIE Thinus -- ook -- Is the 4,5 & 4,8 & GQ on the same specs as far as coils are concerned ??

OTHER question -- I hear tell the Cruiser 80 shocks does fit the GQ nqad also gives more travel than the normak GQ shocks

ANYBODY can confirm?

Hallo Oom
Hoop die rooie draai goed uit. Ja my buurman het n mooi 4.8 gekoop. Nou is ons 2 Patrole in die straat.
Ek kannie onthou hoelyk die 80 se sjokke nie, maar die bakkie het ek by ons werk nuwes opgesit en gesien die gaan net so pas op by kar. Toe kry ek n stelletjie vir my ook.

Thor sal mooi lyk as hy hoër is :-) :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Oupa Mac,
New you would be back in a Nissan. No wonder it got so cold this weekend. These spacers are also called trim packs and are available from Mega world or LA Sport. They are used to level out the coil sprung vehicles after suspensions is fitted. I have two 30 mm spacers on the top of the rear coils to help with the weight. No air helpers available for my coils.

Contact Louis at LA Sport HQ.

I would just like to add my :mytwocents: here:

If you install spacers under the coils of a vehicle, I would strongly recommend installing spacers of similar thickness under the bump stops. I realize that this reduces upwards wheel travel, but it prevents problems with the coils themselves.

A coil spring should never be used beyond it's designed compression height, and should certainly never be allowed to go "coilbound", this is what causes them to break and accelerates sagging.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.
