G,

You should disconnect the battery negative terminal as well, so it shouldn't... but rather get confirmation on this.

PS: Please let us know after you have done this...

How much does it need? Normally you adjust the steering strait on the steering arm (short link between the steering box and pit-man arm) and it don’t affect the rest.

Make sure you don’t adjust the "tie rod" that adjusts the "toe".

Be careful with that airbag equipped steering wheel. Among other things the manual says:
-Do not use a circuit tester to check SRS circuits unless instructed to in this Service Manual.
-Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch “OFF”, disconnect both battery cables and wait for at least
3 minutes.
For approximately 3 minutes after the cables are removed, it is still possible for the air bag and seat belt
pre-tensioner to deploy. Therefore, do not work on any SRS connectors or wires until at least 3 minutes
have passed.
-The spiral cable must be aligned with the neutral position since its rotations are limited. Do not attempt to
turn steering wheel or column after removal of steering gear.
The spiral cable is a little wire, wound up like a clock spring, that connects the air bag module on the steering wheel with the ECU and still allows the steering wheel to turn. This is very fragile and is easily damaged when removing the steering wheel.

Hi Ratau. I just did a 4 inch suspension lift and the steering is 90 degrees out. The rod from my steering box to the left wheel is not adjustable. In the process of making a adjustable rod.

Dankie Gerrit. :salute: Will rather leave the steering/airbag idea for now. Gonna give the agents a call in the morning and ask them to adjust it....

That’s the way to go, a longer adjustable steering rod. By going the hardware route you don’t interfere with the safety electronics and alignment. Does the stock drag link have LH and RH screw treaded ball joints?

Hi Guys. Had a chat with the agents today and told me what to do and Bob's your aunty, sorted. :salute: Disconnected my battery the night before(both terminals just in case), next morning unplugged airbag and did the adjustment, waited another 10 minutes and connected and all good. No big balloon came out of my steering!
