Re: Superflex Radius Arm
Adrian, no problem, I am sure I can do that.Adrianjvr wrote:Theuhan, mine is a GR TD42. I need to make a couple of small changes to the design to make the installation simpler (I needed to file the one bracket slightly). As soon as I have updated the drawings they will be available to forum members. Total cost was just under R4500 including new nissan bushes. I got quoted over R9000 to import one from AUS.
Peter, the one bracket on the drivers side will need to be modified due to the diff.

Re: Superflex Radius Arm
I modelled the radius arm in sketckup. As soon as I have made a couple of small changes it will be available to the forum. I'm not interested in making more sets though. Maybe someone on the forum is willing to make a couple on order.
I'm not sure whether the GU and GQ details are the same.

Re: Superflex Radius Arm
Hi Peter
It would be great if you can make a batch.
I would like to know more about the pros and cons. Are there any concerns with surpeflex arms? Strength, long road handling, anything else?
Are any differences between GU and GQ?
What will this cost if you do it in a batch?

Re: Superflex Radius Arm
Alex, I doubt there will be differences between the GQ and the GU, but we will obviously have to check that before we produce.
As far as concerns go, the purpose of these arms are to increase the flex of the front suspension. As such, to get the full effect you will probably have to disconnect the anti-roll bar, and you will also gain more travel by fitting longer-stroke shocks.
However, since it works by effectively reducing the roll stiffness of the front suspension it will effect the vehicle's road handling.
The vehicle will have more body roll in fast cornering, and might be more inclined to oversteer as well. However, how much effect there will be I can't yet say, and in any event if you fit quick-disconnects to your front anti-roll bar so that you can retain it on the road, the effect will probably minimal.
