Wing Mirror Glass Removal

Post by hugejp »

Does anyone have a safe method of removing the mirror glass & guts from a GU facelift GRX wing mirror?

I have been told that the glass clips out & a flat head srewdriver can be used to pry it off.

I need to strip & respray a set of mirrors, I am pretty concerned about breaking the glass.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had a wobbly passenger side mirror. I cannot recall exactly now, but I think there is a screw underneath that "does something". I do recall i took the whole mirror assemble out to work on it.... but mine is a pre-facelift model. I cave a Haynes or something manual at home. I'll have a look for you tonight!!!
