Interior Trimmers Western Cape

Post by jacquesW »

Hi All

I am in the process of potentially buying a 4.8 :woo: but the state of the interior is a bit...let's just say in need of some love. I am looking to have the roof lining and potentially carpets replaced as well as fixing up the cracks in the seats.

1. Can anyone recommend someone in the Cape Town preferably Northern Suburbs area which does good work at a fair price. If you have had something similar done maybe share what type of pricing I am in for.
2. What is a good and well priced heavy duty seat cover product I can look into.

Great news Jacques!

I have had products from Melvin & Moon, Escape Gear & Takla... All of these are good products.

Personally I find Escape Gear the best balance of quality, price & service.

They are fully guaranteed & they will replace worn panels free of charge.

You just need to cover the postage or drop them of at their factory.

Thanks Huge. I was also thinking Escape Gear.

Now I just need to find a local company to do the trimming repairs.

If you find a good trimmer, you could get them to quote on making you a set of covers too...

It may be cheaper than the big brand names, but just keep an eye on the fit & finish.

Also I'm sure you wont have a free repair service...

Just a thought.

Cheers

JP

Hi Jacques

I cant realy recommend someone in CPT as i am in GP.

However i had leather seats done . Cost will obviously differ from company to company.
I paid ~ 10 K for 5 seats

Good seat covers are around 5-8 K . I used at the end Melville & Moon from PE as I found them to be most accommodating with individual requests.

Headliner and Carpet.... dont know.... might be more difficult as these are molded parts.
I would first try some intense cleaning. (I cleaned mine for 2 days !.... and it helpd a lot)
If this does not achieve your required result you might consider getting the headliner or carpets from a donor car. :salute:

Be careful what product you use on the headliner. I once had the glue fail in a headliner due to cleaning with the wrong stuff, causing the material to sag like the canopy of a four-poster bed...

Thanks all.

Yes before ripping out the Roofliner I will first visit a professional valet/detailing company to get an opinion on the odds of cleaning the current one. I am convinced if I am going to try and clean it I will end up replacing it

I did get a good reference of a company which I will pay a visit should the deal on the car go through.

If it yields good results I will share the details including before and afters.
