Hi guys,

How the heck do I take the third row of seats out my GQ?
I thought this would be a quick job but I can work it out at all!

Thanks

Cheers.

I don't know the GQ's, but I assume they would be similar to the GU's. I also looked for this on Google, and it appears as if the process will be the same.

There are two bolts on the hinge-side of each seat (basically above the wheel arch). On the GU, there are two plastic covers on the hinge section which simply clip off to reveal the bolts. 14 socket (IIRC) and remove them. Take the seats out. Last time I removed mine, it was a five minute job. Hope this helps.

Hi Ian,

Thank you, but mine is different to that unfortunately.
Ive checked my workshop manual and the diagram makes even less sense to me.

I need to remove the bracket that the seat hinges on, but this bracket also has a locking mechanism on it, so its a little bit more complex.
I know there are two bolts that I need to undo on each hinge, but the one bolt is underneath this locking mech and inaccessible, there must be a way for the mechanism to come off, but I cant work it out.

Very different.

The brackets on the sides each have a little lever on the side. Flip the lever, then lift the seat. This should allow a large part of the bracket to swivel up when you tilt the seat forward, and this exposes the four bolts that you need to remove.

Ah!
You legend! I didn't even think to fold the seat all the way forward.
As soon as I read this I jumped up and went to the garage. Got that seat out in less than 5mins.
Thank you!
