At this stage no time line, but a minimum order of 10 before we can negotiate...

There is also a member who will be attempting to make flares in the months to come, so I am also keeping an eye on that...

Hi Folks,
I see the fender flares topic has been a long search.... I myself spent a good number of months this year trying to source front flares for my Bakkie camper straight after purchasing it. The previous owner had fitted wider 17” wheels which caused havoc/damage on dirt/mud without flares; and so it was essential to find something.

After a very big effort I finally managed to import the Kutsnake 50mm front flares. They also do a bigger/wider version; but the coverage of mine proved spot on.

I attach some pics below. If anybody is still hunting I can post the full details and suggest how to go about it.

Hi JP

The full don’ts/do’s story.... :

Nissan Cape Town quoted R11800 for the OEM Patrol bakkie flares ( front pair only ).

Kutsnake Australia list on their website a Johan Nel as RSA agent. Waste of time. He didn’t respond to my email.

Kutsnake Oz did indicate ( months ago ) that they were looking at a Cape Town crowd as agents. If this is now the case obviously the easiest route.

In the meantime they were very helpful; pointing me to agents in other countries:

Kenya: Imran in Nairobi. 300USD & said I must arrange collection myself.... which I did set up through friends in Nairobi & turned out he had wrong stock.

Europe: Very helpful but they were quoted €600 just for the shipping alone. We both agreed crazy.

UK: Same. The pair about £180 excl UK VAT; but they said shipping so ridiculous they abandoned the idea.

Oz: no agents in OZ prepared to ship RSA.

Through all this I kept Jay at Kutsnake in Oz in the loop. At which point, realizing my blank wall/desperation after months trying, he stepped in and very kindly offered to see if their factory in China would help me directly as a favor.

Factory said ok but would I please be prepared to buy 2 pairs as freight costs same 1 or 2 pairs.

This is what I did; with Kutsnake using their airfreight company TNT. Fast service. ( I paid via PayPal ).

TNT organized everything including our RSA end. Viz: Clearance fee, Import duty, VAT, Local shipping to me in Calitzdorp.

Final total cost to me, as I remember, around R4200 per pair; everything included.

My suggestion: If Kutsnake don’t yet have their new agent in Cape Town, then all the forum members who want flares should first work together and compile one bulk list; and only then request Jay at Kutsnake Oz to ask Winnie at their factory if they will do it as a single order. Best/most efficient for both parties. I doubt they will be prepared to do a 1-vehicle order again considering their scale of operations ( all makes of vehicles )?

A good site to find your own Patrol’s specific parts: https://www.kut-snake.com/nissan.html

Kutsnake: main guy in Oz is Jay kutsnake@hotmail.com

Lastly, fitment: A good reference https://www.the4wdshed.com/assets/files ... ctions.pdf

Hope this helps. Good luck!
