WOW that is flippen mad pricing!!!!! Should have made mine more expensive!!!! hahahahaha :rolling: Just kidding....... i wanna make stuff affordable... not rip the ring out people.... we will have a look at all the issues with flares as soon as i have made the first set.... then i can fine tune the molding to get a happy medium.....

the one concern that i do have is once i have made the 4'' flares all round i need someone who is willing to work with me..... and who has a rear bumper replacement drawing that we can edit, or will share with me so that i can make or we can make some changes. to accomidate the new flares. as the original bumper corner pieces is a one piece mould. were the flares cannot be removed, unlike the front flares on the front bumper can be removed and replaced...... i will attach some pics to try and explain my thoughts......

Hi Tinus

I am hopefully looking at my pricing coming in at around +/- R3500-00.... which i think is fare??? Seeing as ala-plast is selling there fender flares at 233-78 euro which when converted to rands is R3397-34 but i am not sure if this includes shipment and all that jazz.....

Rob, what bumper do you have (or are jou looking at replacing it anyway)?

I think the flare attached to the bumper ends should ideally be plastic or even polyurethane, particulalrly as large ones as these, from the point of view that if you hook a steel bumper on a rock or tree you can potentially do quite a lot of damage?

Ala-plast also (claim) to make a set for the 5-door Patrol: Fender Flares Nissan Patrol Y 61 - 5 door to 2005. There are photos of them on that link if you're interested.

I ordered myself a set of these, but for some reason or other they did not fit my 5-door Patrol at all. From the side they followed the outline of the wheel arch properly, but the gaps between the flares & the body were about 15cm in some places.

Ala-plast insisted that they had in fact shipped the correct items and that I just had to drill holes in the doors & body and screw them down forcefully. If that was not enough to make them fit flush, I had to cut & bend the bodywork to make them fit! After a few weeks of :argument: they eventually agreed to refund me. At that stage I found out that it was not financially viable to return them, so now they're just gathering dust in my garage.

If you want to try have a look at them, drop me a PM so we can arrange...

I guess it should be 15mm, if it's 15cm you'll need seriously long screws:-)
