Windscreen beading bracket needed

Post by ricster »

I had my windscreen replaced a few months back, and somewhere along the line one little piece had disappeared.... and is making ____ with the beading that goes around the windscreen!!
There is a small steel plate that is fixed with the bottom beading strip ( which is part of the valence where the wipers fit through ). This little steel plate then holds down the rubber beading that runs up the one side around to the other side.
What happens now is that the wind lifts this beading strip off at the corner.
The piece I need is the drivers side corner.

Where can I get one of these, or does anyone have one lying around?
Regards
Cedric

Mine does not have any brackets there - I had to get the windscreen replaced on Monday because it was cracked on Monday morning - do not know why!!

I went to BSG in Boksburg and it cost R800-00 - much less than what I had to pay my part through the insurance.

On mine there is definitely a tin metal and rubber coated corner piece that gets fitted to the bottom rubber, which is part of the metal valance where the wipers come through. When this is in place the corner piece holds the rest of the beading that goes around the window from lifting away from softer rubber in which the glass is seated.

Kobus, does yours have the hard beading around the window that clips into the soft rubber?

But on mine the rubber running down the side of the window fits in underneath that corner piece to hold it in place.....

Cedric

I looked at the wrong place, the mms was not that clear. Me thinks it might still be there as the left side is smashed.

The flappie that we discussed is gone as is the mirror.

Will post some photos of the wreck tomorrow.

I will have to look on youtube sometime on how to fit the chains. I have tried but it keeps on falling to one side or the other.

Will let you know tomorrow when I have been to the wreck.
