Transfer case prob

Post by Leon »

Just want to know if there is a weak spot in the y60 4.2 tcase. Why? Because i have a vibration and knocking sound in my t case. Why? Let me tell you. My patrol don't have hub locks and the previous owner had 32's at the back and 215 bakkie tyres in front. The left cv was turned off i think due to the ratio difference. But it seemed to affect the the case also. It sounds as if the chain could have stretched or maybe broke a bearing. Currently its my only vehicle so cant strip. What do you guys think got damaged in the t case and what does it cost to repair

I guess those two are the most likely probabilities, but I have no idea which is most likely.

Maybe try and buy a second-hand transfer case froim Dawid Volschenk?
