4.5 Clutch issues!

Hi All,
We need some advice please. The clutch on my Brother in Laws, 1999, 4.5 Patrol keeps "falling" away. He checked and even replaced the hydraulic line and could not detect any leaks. If he bleeds the clutch it would be perfectly normal and would stay OK for quite some time - up to two weeks (He is a mechanic by trade). It seems like at random it would just go flat and have no clutch at all, it would not do this during driving but only after it stood for a while. Normal pumping would not help except if he screws out the pedal stopper to allow for longer travel on the pedal. He bled the clutch with a vacuum pump and it was OK afterwards - to ensure no air in the system, but it only worked for a short while. He is not losing any break / clutch fluid.
