Difference in gearboxes?

Post by EdwardWT »

Hi guys,
Is there anyone that knows whether all the auto boxes across all models are the same or are there some differences on the insides of the auto boxes of the 4.5, 3.0 and 4.2 models. I understand that the 4.8 box will be different due to the fact that it is tiptronic.
The same question also applies to the manual boxes.

All I know is the GQ gearbox lever sit closer to the dash if installed in a GU but don't have any more relevant experience on that subject other than it is so heavy most people prefer to pull the engine to change clutches rather than the gearbox :blonde:
