Net ter verduidelikking, n stock safari het omtrent n 35:1 ratio in 1ste low, met sy 4.88 difs.
My merc kry nou 348:1... dit is 10 keer stadiger as my safari. En 37" bande...
Ek was baie lui met wiskunde op skool, maar, daai klink vir my na n 100 keer stadiger. Of is ek verkeerd?

35x10 is 350:1
Darem sien ek nou my fout. Ek het gedink aan die normale 3.481:1 (wat wel 100 keer stadiger sal wees)
Dalk was ek nie lui nie, my gedagtes was dalk net nie lekker by nie...

Sal dit waardeer as jy iemand kan kry om die ratte uit te strip, want ek het nie die nodige gereedskap of plek nie.

Hi Peter
You could try Broadway Heat Treatment to do material analysis and hardness test.
Cost around R 385 excl.
Take around 5 minutes.
I would suspect EN 36 B and a hardness of around 55 to 58 Hrc is what you will find.
That would be a pretty safe material to use.
However EN 24 would be an option is they wanted to use a better alloy. But at a lower hardness spec.
Personally I would use the former.
