This is the same cost as with Marks4wd but with all the import cost and duties. Not a cheap conversion. Then you still need to install it.
This is very true, that's why I would like to find a local engineering Co. to fab it.
JP, I am sure there are gear cutters locally who can do it.\
But we will need to find a transfer case to measure up. Perhaps somebody has one we can borrow and strip down?
I agree with Alex, would love the standard 1:1 and 2:1 ratios to remain, with a third say 3.5:1 added.
I also doubt the shorter propshaft will be as much of a problem on a LWB patrol as it is on any of the bakkies, as our rear prop is a single section, rather than a double-section.
Don't think it will be possible on a SWB though, and it will be MUCH more expensive than the re-gear in the OP.
I have a 4.5 that is standing, I would offer that T-case up as a donor, but is that the same as my 4.8???

As far as I know, the TC is the same throughout the series. Perhaps just a different outlet casting as the 4.8 doesn't have the need to mount a brake backing plate.
My "future ex brother-in-law", does gear cutting. Ar these gears straight cut or what do they look like. If someone has a picture of what it will look like than I can send it to him and ask. I know his price will be very very good too.

So.... did we find someone who can produce this locally yet? Would love to throw some 35"s on my 4.5 and fit low range reduction gears....
the crawling speed with 33"s on, is already too fast for my liking...
