Soek bietjie advies....sodra ek agter locker aan het en skerp draai kom daar 'n moerse harde klap geluid van agter diff af. Sodra jy agter difflock af sit is daar geen klap geluid van diff. Wat kan fout wees.

Alex...dit is 'n moontlikheid dat die agter difflock nie werk nie. Liggie flikker konstant. Ek net gedink dat my Cruiser se diff locks probleme kan gee...maar die Patrol beat hom by far.

Patrol diffs are stronger than Cruisers
Most Arabs who push these machines to the limit on dunes would attest to that.
However the native Nissan rear locker is in my view not.
It only has two splines. I would argue the reason for this is because it is much better for the locker to break than for any other part of your drivetrain. You cannot drive home with a bent sideshaft.
Be that as it may, I have never had any issues with my locker. I thought I did though, but this was only the indicator switch that has a tendancy to corrode. Which is the more likely reason for the light to flash on your dash.
However since you mention a clacking sound, itay suggest it is broken. It could have broken if you started an obstacle while the locker had not fully engaged yet.

My 8cyl maak 250kw en 500 nm in my Patrol. My kar se diffs is nog heel.
Cruiser met daai krag se diff leef nie, Die diffs onder n Cruiser is einlik n grap Die wiel bearing bv is bitter klein teenoor n patrol.
Anyway ek brand bash nie, maar daar is ongelukkig geen vergelyking nie. Nie naastenby nie.

Ek stem volkome saam met julle....Patrol diff's baie sterker. Ek sal moet ondersoek instel en sien of die locker gebreek het. Daar is geen snaakse geluide sodra locker af geskakel is nie...en alby sy agterwiele trek normaal met locker af. Klap geluid kom net voor sodra locker aan is...en jy skerp draai na regs.

Hier is my diagnose:
Die twee "dog clutch" tande gly. Dit gebeur as mens die locker laai terwyl dit nog nie ordentlik ingeskop het nie, hetsy weens verkeerde gebruik of probleme met die aktuasie-stelsel (solenoid wat nie reg werk nie, lug-lekkasie, geblokte pypies of lekkasie op die diafragma).
Ongelukkig is die tande waarskynlik nou geslyt. indien wel, moenie die bestaande parte probeer regmaak deur te swys en oor te slyp nie, dit werk amper nooit nie. Kry eerder 'n tweedehandse as (David Volschank kan jou waarskynlik help) en vervang of die hele as, of die verweerde onderdele. Kyk egter ook deeglik nae die aktuasie-stelsel om seker te maak dat jy nie dieselfde met die nuwe stelsel doen nie.
Net vir interesantheid, gebeur dit al twee kante toe, of net een kant toe (as jy nie reeds weet nie, moenie gaan toets nie want jy gaan alles net verder opfoeter)?

Hi Peter...dankie vir info. Dit gebeur net as ek skerp regs draai met locker engaged na een kant toe. Baie seker daarvan dat solenoid nie reg werk nie. As jy die pypies aftrek en toets dan kom daar bitter min lug uit die onderste pyp (met locker skakelaar in aan posisie) sal maar na die diff moet laat kyk. Wie is David Volscank?

GRAHAM het ou Thor se difflock vir my uitgesort voor ek hom aan sy OU Oubaas verkoop het .. nuwe solenoiid ingesit en die pypie REG gekoppel.
Ek sou eers met GRAHAM gesels voor ek ander aste en diwwe koop.
Op Boezman het ek so maaaa se klap gehoor daar in Richtersveldt .. dit was toe die universal oppi propshaft agter by die diff ..
