Diff-lock (vacuum solenoid) problems? - We can help..

Hi.. We have had a couple of calls from some of the Patrol4x4 forum members that managed to find our details, these calls was in regard to the vacuum solenoid on the diff-lock (replacing the rather expensive OEM one), we offer a solution to the factory fitted unit at a much better price!

Have a look at some comments by members:
Rudolph wrote:My difflock storie gaan as volg.

The part number that they quote for the MAC valve is: 45A-GC1-DDBA-1BA-M532F

The local agents for MAC are Pneumatic Electric Control Systems (http://www.pecspower.co.za/)
Now, we are the MAC agents in Southern Africa and stock these valves specifically for the PATROL, The correct part number of this vacuum solenoid valve is: 45A-GC1-DDBA-1BA-Mod-532F and the price at the moment (August 2011) is R617-00 excl. VAT. As a special offer to all forum members we will offer a 5% discount on this price.

Dear PECS ( Riaan / Casper )

I have a 1995 GQ Patrol and my solenoid is 50% operational, only bottom section is showing signs of working, so when I need to disengage my difflock I must get out of vehicle open bonnet and change the "pypies" around. Will this unit you are selling be suitable for my vehicle , I will take a picture of current one and load it on the forum.

Shalom

Jules, yes, it should work like a charm, but before you spend your hard earned cash, these solenoids (old and new) have two coils and by the sounds of it, your one coil is not operational so the solenoid/valve cant switch over, check your electrical connection to both coils, if there is a 12V signal to both (when respective sides are operated) then the solenoid is at fault and will need replacement, if not, then trace your electrical problem and the issue should get sorted.

Riaan

Hi Jules,

This solenoid works perfect for our Patrols, I have installed one which I bought from Riaan. Check out the picture I put it in the same place as the original one, just had to make up a bracket. If your problem is not electrical you should be fine installing one of these solenoids.

Cheers
Rudolph

Tested electronics with Gerrit and all seems fine, so I guess me must order one of solenoid goodies, will see if I cannot find anything here at one of the local pneumatic shops etc.
