Hi Guys,
Recently met a new 3.0 Patrol owner, who has literally just taken delivery of his new (2001) Troll. I have told him about the forum, so I`m sure he will be registering here soon.
Just got an email from him, and he needs to replace the fan belt. Apparently its a uni-belt (serpentine belt?) on the 3.0. Do any of you 3.0 owners out there know if there is an alternative to getting the belt from Nissan? If the belt is available aftermarket, does anyone perhaps have a brand name and part number??
Thanks in advance!
Ross

Hi , I have asked this question a time ago on the Oz forum, they all said the pirate fanbelts squeeked terrible, but some guys also said wash it in a detergent. Some extracts below.
Ross , also refer your friend to service items in this thread http://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=262
If he finds it let him post the number pse. Also another thing , tell him all the sparepart suppliers have the ZD 30 of the hardbody listed as the same as Patrol, its all wrong. Its not the same motaor at all. Its a common mistake at any sparepart shop.
Use Nissan Fan Belts, A Little Bit Dearer But Worth It, Me And A Mate Got Repco (after Market Belts) And They Squeeled Like Anything.....couldnt Shut The Things Up....
Try these numbers. Came off my old belt. I get the impression the Nissan belt has more than one application.11720-VC10, or 7PX1640, or R35AJ2. Try washing the belt thoroughly in detergent if it squeals. Use plenty of water. I find once you get rid of the accumulated dirt and rubbish, the belt shuts up. Usually it squeals after getting moisture on it, after a dry spell.
