Frans Fourie (Tour de Frans op hierdie forum).

Ek weet baie ouens is baie gelukkig met Vanderlinde, maar ek het by hulle nog net swak diens en teleurstellende verbeterings gehad.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Jannie wat die manne se stem ek ook mee saam.
Ombouings is baie duur en is beter en koop n diesel as om een te bou.
N nuut oorgeboude TD42 wat ge turbo is gaan jou R65,000 kos en dan is dit sonder exhaust, intercooler en Madman......so dit klomp geld. Ek kry met myne 7.5km/L en swakste verbruik ooit was 6km/L met n groot trailer.
Soos Peter se dis nie veel betee as jou 5.3 nie, maar +- R80,000 is baie brandstof vir n 4.5.
Die twee karre ry heeltemal anders so hang maar af wat presies jy soek.
Vir sleep is die diesel baie lekker, maar vir regmaak as iets vout gaan nie so lekker nie.

More Jannie kyk ek dink jy moet by die begin begin...kyk dat alles op die enjin in spec is
die petrol pomp drukking
die petrol pomp filter is vervang
die HT drade
die lug filter
al die klein goedtjies... 1 persent krag meer hier een persent meer daar deur al die klein goedtjies
watter grote bande het jy op die Patrol....

Maar as jy n conversation wil doen dan is die enjin koop die goedkoopste part wat jy koop...en voor jy die hare uit jou oe uit vee is jy R100 000.00 uit die sak uit
trust me jy gaan nie daai geld terug kry die dag as jy die kar wil verkoop nie....

ek gaan my 4.5 nou begin probeer verbeter sonder om betroubaarheid te vir minder en wil dit in stappe doen met voor en na resultate
sal op forum post soos ek aangaan :oldtimer:

The next time you come to the big smoke leave it at professor Graham for a while.

At 280 000 km either your fuel pump is not giving enough pressure or has already been replaced with an incorrect one. This alone for under R 1 k is going to make those hills flatten out. Then as Errol says all the other small things and I reckon you may be smiling for very little money.

My 4.5 has all the bells and whistles done including gasflow, exhaust. air filter etc etc but the single thing that made the biggest difference was the fuel pump.
