Dale, you will have to get a dial gauge and measure every pistons maximum protrusion above the block. This will determan what thickness gasket you should buy.
I will see if I can find the specs
Hope this was wat you asked?

Yip. Looking for the measurement. More I look more I find dodgy. Seems previous owner pulled a fast one...

(1) Alert's heads are not remanfctrd. It is new. The ZD30 engine number is stamped on the HEAD not the block. The head I got from Alert was NOT numbered. I also got the head gasket [the metal one] from Alert. BUT then I had no problem with the block or head having possibly skimmed. Then you would need the "thicker" head [nope .. NO pun there]

(2) Phone LEON at Boksburg SAC and ask about the correct measurement for piston lift and head clearence ... Also Gerhard at SAC Centurion will know If it is only the ONE cylinder [# 4] that scraped, and the previuos owner took short cuts, could be that the #4 con-rod is not the correct one [pilfered off another buggered engine]

May Oompie suggest -- as you are inside the engine already, replace the valves as well

Good luck with all this.

Here is a screenshot of the available gasket sizes according the deck hight.
I dont think the valves need to be replaced unless the engineers think they are worn to much on the guides or burnt where they seat. Valves usually last forever and rearly need replacing.

Michael, oompie was referring to dubiuos sizes valves that the PREVIOUS owner could have installed .. that is why I asked him to check [That man from Wegry/Drive out who swopped LOBO from me with his Camry .. he replaced the valves in LOBO with wrong ones and that caused Lobo to throw valves .. cos me NEW heads and a complete overhaul.. 50 K of money I did not have

Picked up my head and gaskets from Alert today and dropped at engineers. Will have everything back next week. Quality looks good. Do yourself a favour and just get the full gasket set. It has everything I can see I need. Top end set was missing a few bits. Doing this with no time is taking Forever!

Dale

Does the full set include the injector seals and head gasket as well? Because I need to get the gaskets now for the one I am busy with......

I think to say is a really crap job removing the head is an under statement, must be one of the worst engies to work on
