"TCU" ERROR 4.8 GRX

Hi ... please help , i've been reading and following all the topics in this forum ...and its been a great help . I own a 4,8 grx auto ..no problems what so ever since today .... my Patrol "Mafuta" went into " limp" mode engin controle light on , took it to Dealers they say my "throttle control unit" packed-up ..... at R19 500 . 00 for the new unit its a havy price to pay . But when they do the normal manual throttel control test ... the unit responds by opening and closing " i presume its calibrating" and comm. with the "ECU" .... Any Body have advice , or had the same problem ????

Please help .. "i've done a lot of water crossings in the "Tuli-Block" in the last 2 months ... the Patrol works hard ... Tows a 3.5 ton Ski - boat ,travells between 10 - 15 times a year to Botswana , all hard work is this normal for a vechile with 105 000 km on the clock ........ ?????

I don't know what the problem could be, but I'm sure someone will look in here and give you some good advice. I presume with the holidays just past a few people might be away. Hang in there.....

Welkom op die forum. Ek hoop jy vind baat hierby. Jou probleem klink na een van daai tipiese Nissan probleempies wat die agente se koppe laat stilstaan. Sodra "consutl" rekenaar nie 'n probleem uitwys nie, werk hul eie logika niks verder nie. Ek weet nie wat is fout nie en nog minder wat die oplossing is,maar.... Dit klink vir my of die ECU iewers 'n verkeerde lesing vanaf 'n sensor kry. Sodra hy hierdie info met die ander inkomende info vermeng dan hou hy nie van die antwoord nie en sit die voertuig in limp mode. My bietjie ervaring met soortgelyke probleme is dat die fout nie noodwendig deur "konsult" opgetel sal word nie. Bv....konsult sal 'n foutiewe MAF sensor uitwys maar nie 'n vuil MAF sensor nie. Dit verg iemand met "eenvoudige" logiese denke om deur die voertuig se info insameling/vermenging proses te dink en dan eenvoudige toetse te doen om die dikwels "eenvoudige" probleem te kry.

As ek jy is begin ek soek by al die sensors. Sterkte!

Miskien omdat jy baie deur water ry moet jy al die plugs wat moontlik nat kon geword het skoon maak.

Een van die plugs het miskien begin roes en nou is daar 'n swak kontak - verhoogte weerstand.
