Pieter,

Dis lekker om the hoor jou "projek" vorder. Kon jy al vasstel hoe die enjin en jou bestaande ratkas op mekaar gaan pas? Gaan jy 'n "adapter" plaat nodig he?

Ek dink nogal baie aan jou omskakeling omdat ek weet wat al die dingetjies aan my kant was met die omskakeling van ZD30 na 4.8. Ek is nuuskierig oor dinge soos elektriese looms, spoed sensors ens. Een ding is redelik seker, jou diffs gaan lieflik saam met die 4.2 enjin werk. Jou speedo behoort uit te wees, maar dit kan gekalibreer word deur VR2 Instruments.

Hou ons asb op hoogte. Dis eintlik baie exiting!

Die flex plate van die 4.2 pas 100% op die 3.0l se ratkas en al die gate line op!! :thumbup: :thumbup: Dit was besonderse goeie nuus. Al wat ons moes mod was om nuwe gate te boor en tap vir die 4.2 starter wat n aansienlike frisser starter is as die 3.0l s'n. Maar verder lyk dit of alles soos n handskoen gaan inglip!!!

As alles goed gaan sal ek na die naweek verseker weet - die "nuwe" engin en ratkas gaan die naweek terug in. Meer detail hieroor later!!!

Dit kan werk, maar mag dalk 'n tong met 'n bier agter die blad laat knoop. Ek het destyds ook die naam Projek "4 to 6" oorweeg, met verwysing na silinders. Projek Lasarus het op daai stadium beter gepas omdat my kopseer slegs met baie gebede saam opgelos was en Lasarus sommer sy naam kon bly.

I reckon "Project Resurrection " doesn't quite do justice to the conversion you're doing! How about "Project Phoenix" or "Project Hulk"....Holding thumbs that you come right with this!

Can I ask what they charged you for that TD42T engine? And how have you overcome the 24V vs 12V issue?

Hi there SRXy,

I decided to stick to Project TD42T Conversion - the project Ressurection had too much of a biblical connotation to it to my wife's liking - I had to let it go!!

Check this thread http://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=1171 and you will see the progress made with the conversion - as well as the answer on the 24V/12V issue.

Pieter, die regte naam sal opdaag. Ek hou van jou numeriese verklaring. Alle goeie "prototipe" ontwikkelings het eers net 'n nommer en kry later 'n naam. Moet ook nie worry dat Nissan hierdie een sal uit"figger" nie.
