Thx Tinus, would LOVE to have come with, however I already have flights booked for a family trip over that time to Cape Town, but will definitely join on at least one or two official Patrol trips with you guys this year.
And regarding the new td42t motor from UD35 or UD40, I did not actually know they use the same motor at all, and had no idea they could possibly be had for so cheap(relatively speaking). Thx so much for the advice, I now have another avenue to start exploring tomorrow. But just out of curiosity, I have read one some forums that the N/A earlier TD42 motors have some stronger internals than the later TD42t motors, so they can be boosted harder, would that not make my motor a beter candidate, or are the UD35/40 motors already boosted to a good enough power to just tune it up and drive with it as is?
P.S. guys, just so I am totally open and honest. I freaking love my Patrol and all patrols in general, but I am not one of those guys hooked to only one brand, I love many brands of good vehicles, and especially love SWB vehicles (except Land Rovers...), so just so you guys don't find out later and stone me, here are two of my babies together this afternoon:
The cruiser has had quite a bit more done to it already as I have had it for about a month and a half before I got the Patrol. I truly still cannot believe I actually own two of the vehicles I dreamt of owning when I was growing up.
P.S. the Patrol is more comfortable....

Ps daar staan ook n paar toyotas in my yard.

Re: My new Buffeltjie build thread

Re: My new Buffeltjie build thread
Welcome fellow TD42 owner!!!
That looks like a beaut of a GQ!!!!!
In my opinion, other than Graham ( Pathmaker ) from G-Tech Motors who is in Valhalla Pretoria area who is an EXCEPTIONAL Patrol guru, there are really only 2 other people I would let do the turbo conversion. Michael, I believe can do this for you, but he is in Centurion Gauteng. He is very well versed in the TD42 turbo projects department......hahaha. The other would be Frans ( tour de Frans ). I say this with no disrespect to anyone, but due to the fact that the diesel pump will need to be worked on to change plunger sizes etc.... if you want to get the 140Kw up at altitude ( eastern Free State), and to make sure that that short beast is running at optimal performance, he will be the man to do this. There will be a lot of manufacturing like manifolds and possibly sump modifications. Frans has tinkered on my Iron Maiden a few times when I have driven down to see my folks in the Cape, and the performance differences each time have been insanely amazing. It would be worth taking it to him and leaving it with him for a few weeks to get it into 100% shape.
Please take a photo of the motor so we can also see if its the black top or silver top ( specifically the alternator to see if there is a vacuum pump on it)
