Chuck Norris drank a mixture of water-laced diesel yesterday afternoon and it turned out to be his Kryptonite. The poor guy lost all power shortly thereafter and coasted to the side of the highway trailing a large cloud of smoke

Graham is in charge of reviving him, so he's in good hands.

I'll start reading the fine-print in my insurance policy tonight before I decide on a course of action. In the mean time I'd appreciate advice from anyone who's befallen a similar misfortune...

Its not ideal to have water going through you pump and injectors. On the positive side we have old school pump and injectors, so you miggt get away without any damage.

Christo, didn't the dash light come on?? ....ouch man that is really bad man !!!! Like Michael says we have tough old school stuff, so maybe just the injectors need to be changed or serviced

Yep, the dash light did indeed go on.

Graham is fully booked, so he's working on Chuck as he gets time. He reckons he'll have the head off tomorrow, so we'll know more about the damage then.

In the mean time the fuel station has requested that I provide them with a sample of the "infected" diesel. I have a feeling that this unfortunate episode is going to take quite a while to get sorted...

Not too sure. By the time I noticed it, Chuck's engine was already fried

Graham reported that it's obvious water damage - five of the pistons are cracked and the pre-coms are stuffed too. So I'm looking at new pistons, rings, big-end bearings & gasket kit at the bottom end, plus pre-coms & a general head service (valve stem seals, valve reseat, etc.) at the top. He'll also have the con-rods checked out to ensure they did not bend.

I guess I'm in for quite a serious bill for all of this?
