Source for brake components

Post by Florian320 »

After I replaced my brakes on my '99 Y61 4500I I can now give you the details of the brake discs and pads. On both axles they fit in flawless.
The manufacturer is Brembo (https://www.bremboparts.com/africa/en ), a famous German brake company. They also have distributors in South Africa.

Front:
Disc: Brembo 09.A055.10
Pad: Brembo P56041

Rear:
Disc: Brembo 09.A451.10
Pad: Brembo P56039

I think that Brembo is more for competitive use and those brakes need to be hot before the grab ...under correction....

Oom Mac.... I presume you mean just the brake pads only, and not the 4 steel discs, cause R1600 for 2 x front and 2 x rear steel brake disks is quite cheap !!

Sorry, I did not activate notifications....

I paid:

front pads P56041 45,18€
rear pads P56039 39,98€
front discs 09.A055.10 118€
rear discs 09.A451.10 116€

Shipping in Germany was included, I don't know what the cost would be in SA.
Brembo is especially the OEM manufacturer for German sports cars. Most German premium car brands will put Brembo brakes on to their stronger cars. As far as I know it is the most famous brake brand at least in Europe, but I might be wrong.

I think the prices were quite fair, especially compared to Nissan parts which were about double.

@Wilkie: the grab in for the brakes in my opinion only applies to ceramic brakes, not the steel brakes, regardless of the manufacturer.
At least Brembo is not mentioning anything like that and I can confirm after using them now that the immediately work, regardless of their temperature.
