Patrol Model History in South Africa

Post by Saltman »

Hi

Does anyone have access to reliable or verifiable information so that we could compile a short history of which models were available in South Africa and during what periods?
For instance if we look at the later models, when was the 4.8 introduced to RSA?

According to www.autoteam.co.za , the Patrol 3.0di GRX and 4.8 GRX Tiptronic was introduced 10/2002 and discontinued 10/2004.
Accordng to autoteam, the facelifted models that we see currently being sold here were launched during 11/2004 (3.0 Di GL, 4.8 GL and 4.8 GRX).

Any further info would be welcome.
Thanks
Herbie

Herbie

that's a great idea and hopefully we can include it in this forum. Quite confusing when looking at the Aus Patrol site. I'll see what I can find. Would be nice to also display this graphically.

Hello Herbie
Ja goeie idee. We must allso look into importing goods from Aus. If we can get 8 or more people interesting in importing nice bumpers, sub tanks ex. we must do a group buy. Net 'n idee.

Great idea,

Mine is a 2002 model, yet is labeled as a 3.0 GL so that contradicts the autoteam info.

Hi Herbie,

Great Idea. I have a 95/96 ST4.2D that was imported from Aus by IC Nissan in Springs. Nissan SA keep telling my troll is a grey import. The story changes when I show then the original sale doc. I have the original broucher for this range. I will post this ASAP.

Grant,

I get the same story from Nissan. What does your VIN begin with?
