Recruiting new members
A lot of good groundwork has been done establishing this forum but a forum is only as good as the collective inputs from contributors. So the more the merrier..?
How do you guys feel about a Patrol4x4.co.za 'invitation' flyer? I'm thinking of the instance where you spot a patrol in a parking lot - you can leave a little flyer inviting them to join this forum. The invite would be a basic template which each member could edit to include their username/name (so the invitee already 'knows' someone). You can then print one or two copies to keep in the cubbyhole.
So, Invite? Yes/No.

Re: Recruiting new members
If you guys are keen on an invite it should include this:
This forum is intended to be a virtual home for Southern African owners and enthusiasts of the Nissan Patrol. Anyone who is interested in the vehicles and the travels that they make possible, is welcome here. This forum is the place to:
* share and gain technical knowledge about the vehicles and their application
* share trip and travel experiences
* establish contact with likeminded people

Re: Recruiting new members
weskus_surfer, I agree with you completely. I have also wished I had some sort of an introduction message to leave under the wiper of parked Patrols that I encounter in order to invite more people here.

Re: Recruiting new members
Could this invitation also include the rest of Africa, or do you guys want to just keep it South African.. Reason, there are Patrols in NAM, Bots, and so on and i am sure some of these guys would love to belong to something local. Just asking no pressure here........

Re: Recruiting new members
A flyer makes good sense. I have already mentioned the site to an acquaintance of mine who drives a Patrol, and it would be so much nicer to pass on a flyer to him. Problem is, at the same time I half-heartedly made him an offer for his Patrol, and he seemed kinda interested...

Re: Recruiting new members
In my opinion it would be great to get members from outside our borders, be they from other Southern African countries or further afield. I think the forum should retain a Southern African focus, but that does not mean that we can not welcome members from elsewhere.

Re: Recruiting new members
I don't know if we need to go to the extent of providing a flyer. What about just poping a forum sticker under the wiper?

Re: Recruiting new members
Flyer, sticker or invite... it doesn't matter to me. I was tending towards an invite because the logistics behind prepping them is shared amongst the members instead of on the Admin guy
(JohnBoyZA). But if JohnBoyZA is mentioning 'sticker' then I won't stand in the way of progress.
Members from Nam and Bots, and elsewhere, would be cool.

Re: Recruiting new members
Why dont we have a flyer that can be printed by each member himself and keep a few in the car to dish out?
