Re: Coils or Leaf?
Yes, dual springs with one only coming into play when laden can be a good solution to achieve reasonable ride comfort in both laden and unladen states. Re: GQ needed by research couple in Kgalagadi
As is so often the case, it is difficult to be able to make absolute statements in favour of the one or the other for all applications. Leaf springs allow simpler designs, because in addition to providing vertical suspension, they can do the job of locating the axle both longitudinally and laterally...

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
The bakkie on the 4x4community page was 'built-up', not purchased like that. I think it (the other ad) is either an import, a spelling mistake or a hoax. The one that I posted the photographs of does seem to exist (i.e. I don't think it is a spelling mistake or a hoax), but I suppose anything is po...

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
Oh and I think the V6 diesel that is used to make the Navara and Pathfinder unaffordable is the V9X, if I recall correctly .

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
Mac, look at the second last photo that I posted on the first page of this thread. That motor looks very much like a ZD30 to me.

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
I am aware of the fact that the facelifted pick-up has been available in Aussie for a long time and in the Middle East for a while as well, but it is just very strange that Nissan would introduce it here with zero fanfare/publicity .
