Re: Patrol low speed squeek
It's the hand break. When he starts squeaking if you pull up the hand break a click or two it goes away. Something must be stuck or poorly adjusted...

Re: Patrol low speed squeek
Thanks Tinus, that's what I have done and the trip continues. Will worry about it at home. Positive is now with the hubs locked he is much smoother between 4 high and 2 high. Can shift on the fly much smoother as you hit gravel.

Re: Patrol low speed squeek
Squeek is all the time I think but only heard at low speed. 4x4, 2x4, low range all the same. Vehicle was recently serviced, full service so things were greased. Had also a loud grrrrrrrrr once or twice, seems my free wheels were messing around. Locked those now and things seem to have quietened. Re...

Patrol low speed squeek
Guys, some pointers please. Busy travelling and after the last few days some being 4x4 pulling my off road trailer and a lot of higher speed 4x4 gravel roads my patrol GU has developed a severe low speed squeek. First assumption was a stone behind a brake disk guard but I lifted each wheel individua...

Re: Rugged 4x4 fitment
In the middle of a longer trip. So had the time in the karoo to check odo against road markers. I get a 10% under on odo. So I now multiply the distance by 1.11 to get true distance. With this factor my fuel consumption moves around the 12 to 100 mark. Slightly under or over depending on wind direct...

Dawes valve
So without having done massive amounts of research, where is the best place to find a dawes valve Setup? Had a quick look on ebay and seems they are reluctant to ship to ZA.
Where are you guys buying from? Anything in SA?
I have an occasional over boost error that needs solving on my 3.0di.

Re: Rugged 4x4 fitment
Hi Stefan, very much so. She pulled before as well. I have had her on the alignment machine and saw a 3mm difference in the parallel measurement of the diffs. So she would tend to crab a bit to the left. The condition is IMHO not caused by lift nor tyres but rather diff alignment. Exaggerated by lif...

Re: Rugged 4x4 fitment
To answer the otehr questions, fuel wise I suspect a drop in economy but have not got enough miles under the belt on this car to quantify. Noise, yip they are noisy. Size wise, well on the 3 litre diesel I actually have to use 1st gear now. Previously I had no need to use first other than on an incl...
