Re: Dull Headlight Lenses
Or have them polished to crystal clear and get a clear plastic film applied. CPP films like the 3M products. It is also "shock" adsorbent so will protect your headlights from cracks to a certain extent. I have one of my cars protected and it is amazing stuff. I had a piece of 2cm gravel th...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks
Another problem with local is they would not have been tested on the patrols with us been rare  I am also not prepared to stuff around with fuel tanks... I can image that sinking feeling when you have fuel leaking out a crack in your tank when in the Marienfluss valley... The other alternativ...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks
I've had a long range main tank from Northern Off-road fitted over two years ago and haven't had any issues - it has also taken a beating on the River Trip as it does hang a little low - there are a couple of dents in it now, but overall I am very happy and the range improvement is substantial. :th...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks
I see the Browne Davis is aluminium coated SS, not sure what the advantage is... They are not stainless steel. They are 2mm cold rolled aluminum coated steel. I am very seriously looking at this option for the Storm Trooper. I have looked extensively for local solutions and everyone has had problem...

Re: Power-steering fluid leak
So got under the troll and first thing I learned was give a good clean with engine cleaner and high pressure washer before working on oil leaks... :oldtimer: One of the aluminum lines running down from the power steering reservoir had rubbed through. The rubber boot in a bracket had worked loose/ no...

Power-steering fluid leak
I just finished a quick Tsitsikamma caravan trip and when I got home a was backing the caravan into the garage I noted smoke coming out of the left front wheel well. At the time I dismissed it as a hole in the exhaust, after driving for 7 hours I was not interested in tracing a problem... get carava...

Re: Storm Trooper RGM supercharged 4.8
So the first bit of maintenance occured with the supercharger, well actually the waterpump for the charge cooler. It is a bosch item and I was led to believe you could not obtain them in S.A.... special order from Germany, etc. The brushes had worn out in it so I set about fabricating new brushes bu...

Re: Rear Dual battery
My box from bushpower is clicking away for 30 seconds rapidly. And that happens regularly... almost as though the solenoid doesn't know if it shjould be on or not. Is that normal? I have also contacted Jaques. Apparently it is normal  So I found out 2 years later what that clicking was......

Re: Your Patrol is growing up to be...?
So what I like about a patrol is you can achieve 2-6... and as long as you drop the stock standard, 1 aswell.
