Thanks folks, I am going to, or I have already mounted the hawse fairlead to the winch plate. Adding more steel, from a fabricator would be costly and added weight.

I was thinking of LiPo4 battery as well, but the charging requirements increases the amount of electronics, which I don't want to go down, as that would be more points of failure.
