Re: Repairing Patrol clock spring

No, I did not keep it. The new one lasted about 2 or 3 weeks.

AFTER the first light flashing, and the first reset on each unit, the light came back in about 100m. I think you misunderstood

Re: Differential Locker

Have you tried Lokka.com? It is an Australian site and you order the locker over the internet and pay by card (About R4 to 5k). They deliver within about 10 days to your nearest Courier Company. They then sort out the paperwork for the duties, import tax and vat with the Receiver, you pay them (abou...

Re: GRX Alloy Wheel

Go and try it!

Then you come back and tell us..... To lift it 2 meters off the ground, nowhere to actually hold on, and then shove it sideways? Not as easy as it sounds

Re: Repairing Patrol clock spring

"Did you confirm the error code is for the steering wheel airbag? If you reset it, does the same error code reappear?" Yes, I did. my mechanic cleared it, but it came back within 100m, so that is when I replaced the whole unit. The cost was R4.8k, just for the part, 3 or 4 years ago!! Then the light...

Re: GRX Alloy Wheel

Clem, the problem with taking an extra spare on a trip is the weight and where to put it!! Have you tried putting a tyre and rim on a roof rack? You need about 3 or 4 guys, and then they have to be TALL guys!! And then they get in each other's way doing it, and drop it once or twice before getting i...

Re: Patrol Spotting

Ian, the problem with the 10j's like that is that they are 15" rims, not 16's or 17's. I have standardised on 17" rims and tyres. The Pathfinder came with 17s, so I very soon upped my Patrol's 16" steelies to 2 sets of 17's - one set (5) is 17 x 8j (Patrol GRX mags) with ATR tyres and a set (also 5)...

Re: Repairing Patrol clock spring

Paul, so does everything else work now? I had the same issue with my Pathfinder, so for US$23 I ordered clock spring from overseas on Ebay, only to discover that the RHD one differs from the LHD one that arrived here. Mine is clearly marked with a big R, the one from Ebay, had a big L on it, so I co...

Re: Coming over from the dark side...

The Pre 2004 3.0di Nissan Engine was known as the "hand grenade" engine. They blew up (holes in pistons) due to problems with the ECU (probably over-fueling). The problem was solved in 2004 sometime and the 2005 models onward are considered "safe". I would rather look for a later model 3.0Di or even...

Re: GRX Alloy Wheel

The finish is called a "diamond cut" and then spay painted with a clear coat after cutting. Most wheel repair companies can do that. I would suggest Mag Wheel Services, 106 12th Ave, corner Park Drive in Fordsburg. They are open Saturday mornings. It should not take more than a week, at most,to get ...
