Re: Idling RPM for GQ 4.2 Petrol carburattor

Hello Jules

That is a workshop manual. I can't remember the publisher, but it is a branch of Haynes. I found it at Motorbooks.

Re: Idling RPM for GQ 4.2 Petrol carburattor

Hello Jules

My manual sais 600-650 RPM. This is with A/C off and vacuum advance unplugged. If it had an auto box, it should be in Drive and 50rpm faster.

So it sounds like it is spot on.

Re: How to kill a 4.2 turbo engine

Hey Frans

Better get a Nissan badge or something on that motor quickly, before it starts leaking oil all over your garage floor. :rolling:

Voorspoed, wish I could help.

Re: Clueless and in need of Technical Advice.

Hello Margo

Do you know what make the clutch kit is? I have never needed to replace the clutch on my Patrol yet. Only on other cars. But that price seems reasonable to me.

Hello Ladies and Gents I am rather surprised at the interest, thanks. Unfortunately, one of the potential purchasers is in a bit of a hurry, so I would like to get this ball rolling. Therefore I would like to order on Friday. Anybody who has paid a deposit of at least R300 into my account (Standard ...

Re: Clueless and in need of Technical Advice.

Hello Margo With regard to the clutch judder, I am assuming that it occurs while you are still releasing the clutch and dissappears when the clutch is completely released? It should also occur if you slip the clutch in any gear. If it occurs in first gear with clutch fully released, it may be your r...

Re: YOUR PATROL

Hello Gentlemen

Dolf my car and yours are vrtually identical. Mine is ADNC3500000Y21028. Wonder if they came here by the same route? I have been told that these are Aussy numbers, but am not sure.

Mine is a 1996 (Y60) 4.2SGL 5-door station wagon with standard roof.
