Re: Steering Gaurds and Recovery Points

Hi Carlo That stuff looks pretty strong! The problem with snatching on the towball is that the neck underneath the ball, that joins the ball to the towbar is designed to shear off if the load exceeds normal limits, and the momentum of a Patrol in 2L tightening up a snatch rope can definately exceed ...

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED PLEASE!!

Re: New 2 inch lift with pictures

That looks great doesn't it?
But there is something about the Patrol, and particularly the Y61 IV that just make big wheels look tiny isn't it?

Re: Which Roof rack

Hello Stefan The roofrack itself remained completely unchanged. The mounting brackets are bolt-on items, and then there are feet with clamps that bolt onto the mounting brackets. I just cut the brackets as short as possible and then drilled new holes for the feet and clamp units. As the rain gutters...

Re: Which Roof rack

Hi Langman

I have an African Outback roofrack which sits much lower than the standard one. I bought it second-hand. It was originally built for a Landy Disco 2 which has a very high roof, and I cut the brackets shorter. you will also have to unbolt the top ring.

Cheers

Re: Building own Rock sliders

Hi Rocstompa I would go with galvanising, but not powder coating. Powder coating chips pretty easily and cannot be touched up. My personal preference would be galvanizing, and then you get a paintable rubber coating, unfortunately I can't remember the stuff's name, or bitumen underbody sealant. Chee...
