Re: Front Axle Lockers

Thanks Malcolm. I also worked out the Lokka will end up cheaper. I think you are right in the difference being the spline counts. And I think if the Lokka works in reverse, I see no reason why it can't work in a front diff. I have attempted to fill in the vehicle details, but I don't know exactly wh...

Re: Front Axle Lockers

Resurrecting and old thread, but the info/question is relevant without starting a whole new thread somewhere else.. Question???... will a locker or LSD listed for a rear diff, work in a front diff of the same model. In other words, if I find a LSD for a C200 listed for a rear end, will it be able to...

Re: Water crossings with TB45

Re: Ipad as Instrument Cluster on TD42

Oh this is a great question, and I can't wait to see a tech savvy member's reply. I have started scratching a bit to do the same thing to my "Safani". Also looking to find out if you can replace the old Safari TC speedo pickup with an electronic unit, as I would prefer to pick that data up further d...

Re: Snorkel joint sealant??

Agree that if you ever want to remove it, stay away from sikaflex or any sealant for that matter. When I designed and built my snorkel, I worked on clamping those pipe joints, but as usual, things just don't work out where the pipes go through the body and have to meet the box. It was a bit of work,...

Re: Patrol/Safari bits for Sani

I have 6 off M10 x 1.25 bolts, 70mm long. They have 30mm of thread. Can that help? Thanks Peter, but I'm afraid not. But thanks for the contacts to those companies. I will be in contact with them and see what they have. I have however discovered other problems I first need to sort out. The safari t...

Re: Patrol/Safari bits for Sani

Thanks for the info Peter. I was worried about that, and thats why I rather asked before causing trouble. I am already worried about putting double the torque to that TC compared to a standard Safari installation, and how the mounts and chassis fixtures are going to handle it. I started asking at BM...

Re: Patrol/Safari bits for Sani

??? I have no idea. But I would assume the assembly instructions would be very similar, even iff the exact model is different. As for a torque wrench, you could make a plan using a strongarm and a suitable draw-scale. Or a rope-and-pulley system, although that is cumbersome to work with. But I wond...
