Re: Botswana / Zimbabwe safari fuel consumption

As a matter of interest - on my last trip to Namibia I did about 4200km. I did not take exact consumption figures but lets say I got (for me a very good) 4.8km/L with my 4.8GRX - that equates to 875 Liters and at the current price (R 16/L) comes to R 14 000.00. If I got 7 liters/km on the diesel (if...

Re: Over heating problems

Ian, I nearly came home alone, at some stage she was not looking good at all - a nice 38/40 degree wind blowing through your hair - wat can be nicer  - but if she wants to travel with me she knows she must be able to take the punch  Even when we hit the tar close to the Noordoewer ...

Re: Over heating problems

I just returned from a Kgalagadi/Namibia trip. Max temperatures ranged between 36 to 42 degrees C, it was really nice and hot  Corrugation is the nemesis of many a thing and the Kgalagadi has a good measure of that  On the latter part of the trip in the dunes towards Gharagab (road...

Re: BFG KM2 285/70R17 Discontinued ?

BFG KM2 285/70R17 Discontinued ?

I phoned a few dealers in Somerset West/Strand this morning and some of them said that BF don't have the 285/70R17's as an option any more ? I find it a bit hard to believe but when I looked at there website I saw the only option in 17" is 265/70R17 ? Is this true or if not where can I find some in ...

Re: 'n "klak, klak, klak" geluid in 4x4

Ek is maar aan die dom kant as dit by die tegniese kom - bedoel jy dat in 4x4 dit slegs as die hubs op auto is die klak geluide sal maak (gly) en nie as dit gelock is nie. Indien dit die geval is het ek seker 'n bietjie prematuur opgetree om die ander hubs te bestel want ek lock ook as 'n reël my hu...
