Re: Tough Cover for a patrol
Yip - we also on the coast and have experience (not on the Trol thankfully) of bad paint damage caused by car cover in the wind. Not a good idea where there is wind. We also found that moisture was getting trapped between the cover and the vehicle - we think from dew rising or damp coming up between...

Re: 3.0 GL
It looks like my problem is not fixed. Did about 110km towing light trailer and lightly loaded vehicle at 110Km/h on the speedo (say about 106), slowed down for a town, clutch in for downchange at speedbump and madman goes off again. Oil pressure out of range. Fluctuating from 2.4 to off the chart b...

Re: 3.0 GL
Thanks Rudolf - so does that mean that my mechanically challenged statement is correct? Namely that if the sensor fails on the pre-CRD the driver no longer has any functioning warning as to oil pressure? Or is there a fail-safe elsewher?

Re: 3.0 GL
Not CRD.
I am unaware of two units. The unit replaced had a connection to the dash light.

3.0 GL
This may be of assistance on the "granade" issue on the 3lt diesel. I have a 2013 with close on 120,000km and during a long bad road trip recently my madman started beeping warnings as to oil pressure. It indicated that the oil pressure was all over the place - from 1 bar to exceeding max ...

Re: Vehicle permits needed for transkei
Thanks David. Transpires that the cottage is legal, getting there is no problem. But to move up and down the coast to fish or dive there are "farm roads" for which a permit is needed.

Vehicle permits needed for transkei
We leave for the Transkei next week and heard two days ago that we need vehicle permits to drive to our accommodation. We were not aware of this and find that we should have applied 15 days before departure (damn) and that - if caught out- a fine of R2,500 applies. See the link below - of course non...
