Re: The 4.5 Turbo

Ok, this weekend I drove to Sabie, 80% loaded. (3 Adults with all provisions for the weekend.) 584.8km (30km 4x4; 100km town; remainder open road) 107.25L fuel. It seems that fuel consumption remains relatively steady at just over 18 l/100km. I will keep monitoring, but will no longer provide an upd...

Re: The 4.5 Turbo

What was the consumption before the mod, on a comparable trip ? This is where it gets tricky. Apples with apples isn't that simple. If I had driven the same road at the same time before the modification, I would have had roughly 17.5 l/100 (compared to 18.2). However, my travelling time wou...

Re: The 4.5 Turbo

I promised to keep you posted on fuel consumption. Have driven 532 km combined highway and town. My foot wasn't particularly heavy, but I also wasn't really trying to be extra careful. I suppose this is what you can consider "normal" driving for the (new and improved) Patrol. Got 18.2 litres per 100...

Re: The 4.5 Turbo

Hahaha you guys. First you ask for videos of doughnuts and then you ask for discipline. I can't please everyone so here's what I can do: I am generally a disciplined driver and I am doing 400 km (mixed city and highway) driving tomorrow. Over the weekend I will be doing 500 km or more mostly highway...

Re: The 4.5 Turbo

Alright guys.. first fuel up: 513 km 93 litres Slightly heavier than it was before, but that could very well be because my foot was a lot heavier. Should have another fuel up on Monday and again next weekend. Will keep posting numbers. And still an absolute pleasure to drive. I went to th...

Re: Turbo for 4.5l

Just wondering how you convinced Wife??? Well easy really: She loves her turbo Jimny, and it is only fair that I get to have a turbo too. :blonde: I loved my 4.5 for the quietness and smoothness of the motor and interior, I remember just when I bought it that a few times I had to look at my rev cou...

Re: Turbo for 4.5l

Ok, so I received the vehicle last night, and all I can say at this point in time is: what a pleasure. From Centurion I climbed onto the N1, turned off N3, left on N17, stopped at Carnival Mall for a bite to eat, and then drove to Secunda. Not the longest test drive ever, but not so short that I cou...
