Re: Recovery hook WLL

Pretty sure it is. I have seen it used for some pretty heavy snatch recoveries, which I am sure exceeds the load with a winch and snatch block.

Re: Recovery hook WLL

I don't know what Nissan designed it to acheive, and I am not sure exactly how strong it is, as don't know what material it is, but I am fairly sure the breaking load is in excess of 12 tons. I would be quite happy to use it for snatch recoveries assuming I have a catch rope on a second point. I am ...

Re: My '98 GU 4.2 TD

There is an easier and (I believe) safer way:

In this way, you set the valve gap only on the worn section of the rocker.

This is what I have done, and I promise that it does work.

Re: Y61 Locking hub spanners

Christo, I really wish I was that fast (from concept to stock in 48 hours)! And I guess that means I have once more managed to sow chaos and confusion. I am busy making. 5 sets of material on order. I will put you in the second batch if Ian wants one, or in the first set if he doesn't. Either way, i...

No... this seems to be a new thread. Perhaps I am confused....
Sorry Ian, I am now offering both. And at the same price too...

This thread is for the hub-locking spanner, the other thread (linked in the first post) is for the wheel bearing spanner.

Am I missing something? the hub locks with a wheel-spanner?
Correct. But this is much smaller, thus can fit in a door pocket or cubby hole or even the centre console, so you don't have to unpack the car to find your wheelspanner if you want to lock the hubs...

Re: 2001 4.5 GRX

Cedric, that roof was shade net (not tarp), but it had bungee cord sown into the edge, and thus removed entirely in just a couple of minutes. We often removed it, and sometimes even sat on the railing at the top. The windscreen also just slotted into place and could be removed. When going on night d...
