Re: Y61 Wheel allignment

THere is only one adjustment on a Patrol's wheel alignment. That is the tow in/out. The steering box is mounted ont he right-hand side of the car (unless yours is left-hnd-drive). From there, it links to the left front wheel. that in turn links to the right front wheel. In other words, the only poss...

Re: Project Snowy met n turbo

Not an expert on Diesels, but: Piston weight and RPM combined is the biggest contributor to engine wear once the engine is up to working temperature. As far as I am concerned, lighter must be better. But, the above only counts if the crown height is the same, because if not the compression ratio wil...

I have certainly noticed that my last three sets of tires really started performing very badly in terms of sustaining damage more easily about 6 years after manufacture. In fact, the Bridgestones i recently thre...

Re: Project Snowy met n turbo

Looking at that I think valve guide or stem seal is a good candidate.

But if you are re-building the engine anyway, perhaps the cause doesn't really matter, since all the possible causes should be receiving attention anyway as part of a proper rebuild?

Re: Patrol porn......

I stand corrected. Much more modified, and much more flex (nearly 50% more) than mine.

The limiting factor usually remains shock length. A higher lift, combined with extended bump stops like he has, gives room for longer shocks. Of course, the lift brings disadvantages too.

I stand humbled.

Re: Patrol porn......

He's also on Instagram, under the user name "One Tough Patrol".

From what I can gather, the front end setup is similar to what I have now, except that he's got much more lift for the 40" tires.
